Get an expert diagnosis without delay

We understand how concerning breast cancer symptoms can be, that’s why our One-Stop Breast Clinics are designed to give you the expert answers you need without delay.

When you’re experiencing symptoms of breast cancer or an irregularity has been found through routine screening, our One-Stop Breast Clinics provide a triple assessment in a single appointment. This includes a consultation, examination and imaging tests. You’ll receive your imaging results on the same day and if you need a biopsy we can do this at the same appointment.

Together with the expertise of our consultant specialists, you’ll have access to the latest tests and scans using the most advanced imaging technology.

We have several convenient locations to choose from in London, you can also access a HCA UK One-Stop Breast Clinic in Manchester and Birmingham

We know you might feel apprehensive about addressing your symptoms but please be assured that our specialist team is here to support and guide you.

We can usually provide appointments to see a consultant specialist and have all your initial diagnostic tests within 48 working hours. You may even be able to book an appointment on the same day. We have several locations to choose from for your convenience.

Your mammogram and ultrasound results will be available on the day of your appointment. If you need a biopsy, these results will usually be available within 2-3 working days.

If you are accessing a One-Stop Breast Clinic through your insurer, they will require a GP referral before you book your appointment.

If you need a GP consultation to discuss your symptoms, our highly experienced GPs can provide same or next-day appointments.

Alternatively, your current GP can provide a referral – simply request HCA Healthcare UK and they can refer you to us.

If you have private medical insurance, you’ll need an authorisation code from your insurer before calling us.

If you’re self-funding your care, you don’t need a GP referral, you can call us directly to book an appointment at a One Stop Breast Clinic.

Breast cancer remains the most common cancer diagnosed in women across the UK, but it’s important to remember it can also affect men. That’s why everyone should be breast aware – looking out for any changes to the appearance or feel of your breast or nipples.

Should you notice any changes including breast lumps, discomfort, nipple changes or nipple discharge, or skin changes, it’s essential that you have these looked at by a breast specialist without delay. Finding breast cancer early can significantly improve treatment outcomes.

Remember, you also have breast tissue under your arms and in your chest as well, so it’s important to check your armpits and all the way to your collarbone.

If you do discover anything while checking yourself, such as a lump or other changes, you can receive all the necessary tests at one of our One-Stop Breast Clinics.

Most breast lumps are non-cancerous. But if you are diagnosed with cancer, you will have immediate access to a world-leading team of cancer experts, who will recommend a personalised treatment and care plan based on your individual needs and the latest treatment options. WHAT TO EXPECT

What happens at a One-Stop Breast Clinic

At our One-Stop Breast Clinics, we’re committed to delivering the gold standard of care, providing you with a triple assessment in a single appointment. This means you will have your initial diagnostic tests and, when necessary, a biopsy all during the same visit.

This includes three stages:

01

Specialist breast consultation

At your initial consultation, your specialist will assess your medical and family history and perform a comprehensive breast examination.

02

Mammogram and/or ultrasound

Following your consultation you’ll have some imaging tests. Our team will discuss these tests with you and recommend the most suitable option for you. This may include a mammogram or an ultrasound scan – sometimes both. We can arrange for you to have all your imaging during your single visit.

The results from your mammogram and/or ultrasound scan will be shared with you the same day.

03

Biopsy

Based on your imaging results, we may need to perform a biopsy. When required, we can typically do this on the same day. The results of your biopsy should be available within 2-3 working days.

BREAST SCREENING AT HCA HEALTHCARE UK

Routine breast screening

We also offer routine breast screening across our network. Regular screening is the most effective way to detect breast cancer early, often before any symptoms can be seen or felt.

Finding breast cancer early can make treatment more effective and significantly improve outcomes. We recommend routine breast screening for women over the age of 40, who have not had a mammogram in the last 12 months.

No referral is needed for routine breast screening, simply contact us to book.
