Mr Adrian Lower is a consultant gynaecologist and surgeon. He is one of the leading private consultants in the UK. Alongside his colleagues, Mr Lower is dedicated to improving women's health and wellbeing by treating a range of conditions.
With an extensive background in reproductive health and an interest in helping women conceive naturally where possible, his clinical work encompasses a wide range of medical issues experienced by women. He furthermore offers assisted conception techniques, when required. He is one of the leading experts in Asherman's Syndrome, a condition in which adhesions inside the uterus can stop the menstrual periods and cause pain and fertility problems.
Mr Lower is also a leading consultant on the treatment of fibroids. Fibroids are non-cancerous tumours of the uterus muscle and can affect 50%-70% of women. Only around a quarter of women with fibroids will experience symptoms, however when they do, their impact has the potential to cause problems both in fertility and menstruation, an area where Mr Lower is widely recognised for his experience, patient focus and acute management.
Beyond his strict clinical work, Mr Lower is also the founder and medical director of The London Fibroid Clinic and the Women's Health Partnership Ltd. With his extensive background in gynaecology, coupled with his work as a reviewer and contributor to many top peer-reviewed journals, it should come as no surprise that Mr Lower has been listed as one of the UK's top 150 private doctors in Tatler Magazine since 2005.
On a more personal level, Mr Lower has an affinity with the sea and to this extent, he enjoys fishing and sailing.
