Dr Shouvik Haldar is a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist providing care to both NHS and private patients across north west London. Appointed as a consultant in July 2017, he specialises in the diagnosis and management of complex heart rhythm disorders and cardiovascular disease.
Dr Haldar qualified in medicine from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Medical School, before undertaking general medical training in Oxford. He completed his cardiology training in the North West Thames region, followed by advanced sub-specialty training in electrophysiology at Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals. He further refined his expertise internationally at the University of Toronto, where he undertook additional fellowship training in cardiac electrophysiology and implantable devices.
His clinical practice includes catheter ablation for arrhythmias, pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, and cardiac resynchronisation therapy. He manages a broad range of conditions including atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, heart failure, valve disease, hypertension, ischaemic heart disease, palpitations, dizziness and blackouts, chest pain, and shortness of breath. Dr Haldar also evaluates patients with heart murmurs and a family history of cardiac disease, delivering comprehensive, patient-centred cardiovascular care.
