Dr Deepa Grover is a Consultant specialising in Sexual Health and HIV Medicine. She qualified from University College London Medical School in 1995 and subsequently completed higher specialist training in genitourinary and HIV medicine. In 2008, she was appointed to a Consultant post in this field.
Her clinical work encompasses comprehensive sexual health assessment, including testing and treatment for a wide range of sexually transmitted infections of bacterial and viral origin. She manages recurrent vulvovaginal conditions such as persistent candidiasis and bacterial vaginosis, and has a particular clinical focus on genital dermatological disorders and vulval pain syndromes. She also provides ongoing care for people living with HIV and leads an anoscopy service, supporting the assessment of anal pathology.
Dr Grover contributes to research examining the detection and management of anal intraepithelial neoplasia in individuals with HIV. She is a member of the Clinical Effectiveness Group of the British Association for Sexual Health and HIV, where she participates in the development, review and updating of national guidelines for sexually transmitted infection management.
Her areas of expertise include high resolution anoscopy, antiretroviral treatment, post exposure prophylaxis, comprehensive sexual health screening, management of genital herpes, HIV infection and AIDS, bacterial vaginosis, recurrent candida infections, assessment of vaginal and penile discharge, genital warts, and disorders affecting the uterus, vagina and vulva.
