Mr Loukopoulos graduated from the medical school of Athens, Greece in 1997 and qualified in general surgery in 2006. He worked five years as a consultant in general surgery and kidney transplantation in Evaggelismos Hospital in Athens. In 2012 he moved to UK and Guy's Hospital where he was appointed consultant in 2013.

His main interest is minimally invasive surgery and he leads the program for robotic assisted donor
nephrectomy at Guy's Hospital. As part of his research he has developed a training model for robotic assisted kidney transplantation.
