Dr Shahbaz Roshan-Zamir is a Consultant Physician and Geriatrician whose specialist interests lie in Geriatrics and Cardiovascular diseases in the elderly. His experience and training in geriatric and general medicine is broad, with a focus on cardiovascular diseases and in particular, heart failure and valve disease in the elderly. Dr Roshan-Zamir has training in cardiology, with publications related to this field, and is fully trained as an Echocardiographer, accredited to the British Society of Echocardiography having performed echocardiograms since 1998.
As a Consultant in General Medicine at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital, he regularly partcicipates on the acute medical on call. Dr Roshan-Zamir recently developed the Cardiology for Older Persons Service (COPS), supporting cardiology and in particular the Heart Failure and TAVI teams. He helps manage the Frailty Service at St Thomas', and whilst he provides care for inpatients he also undertakes weekly outpatient clinic work (Heart Failure and Comprehensive Geriatric Assessments).
Dr Roshan-Zamir qualified from Guy’s, King’s & St Thomas’ Medical School in 2006 and was appointed as a Consultant Physician and Geriatrician in the Department of Ageing & Health at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in 2017. He is Vice Chair of the Cardiovascular Section of the British Geriatrics Society. He organises, chairs and presents at national meetings related to cardiovascular diseases in the older population.
