A fast and clear diagnosis

Many symptoms of upper GI and HPB cancers and abdominal sarcomas such as stomach pain, weight loss or fatigue are easily misdiagnosed and others do not present until the disease is advanced so it’s essential that we provide you with a fast, accurate and detailed diagnosis.

Here at The Harley Street Clinic, patients can access the latest diagnostic technologies, tests and scans within our dedicated outpatient facility, including ultrasound, CT, MRI, blood tests and biopsy. In many cases we can offer appointments on the same day that you call to book and we endeavour to arrange multiple tests on the same day if needed to minimise trips into hospital.

Excellent oncology care

Patients requiring cancer treatments can benefit from access to the flagship Leaders in Oncology Care (LOC) Centre, based at 95 Harley Street, offering a number of treatments, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormone therapy and radiotherapy within the heart of Marylebone.

We understand the impact that a cancer diagnosis has on every aspect of life, which is why we go beyond simply providing treatments. We offer a wide range of support services to help both you and your family. From psychological support and hair and image advice to physiotherapy and access to dieticians, we are committed to providing patients with emotional and physical support before, during and after their treatment.

A world class team

At The Harley Street Clinic, we’re proud to work with some of the best consultants in the UK. Our HPB and Surgical Oncology Unit is a great example of our multidisciplinary approach, with leading consultants working closely with radiotherapists, pathologists, nursing teams, dieticians and physiotherapists to provide each patient with holistic care.

Our team is led by Consultant HPB Surgeon Professor Giuseppe Kito Fusai and Mr Arjun Shanker. Professor Fusai has over twenty years of experience working in both private and NHS hospitals and has a specialist interest in pancreatic and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours, liver tumours and the modalities to treat patients with advanced disease, including vascular reconstruction.

Mr Arjun Shankar specialises in benign HPB conditions, sarcomas and upper GI surgery and surgery for all types of abdominal wall pathology. They have both published hundreds of peer-reviewed research papers in their respective specialties and remain active in researching new and innovative treatments of HPB, upper GI diseases and sarcoma.
