The Wellbeing Space at The Christie Private Care

There’s no right or wrong way to feel after a cancer diagnosis, but many people find that connecting with people who are in a similar situation can help to process their own emotions. The Wellbeing Space at The Christie Private Care is a collection of courses and groups, designed to create a community of patients who can talk openly about their experiences and feelings in a safe space. Our courses also provide practical support in coping with life during and after cancer treatment and are facilitated by our team of specialists.

We have courses for people currently on treatment, a moving forward course for people coming to the end of active treatment, a course designed specifically for men who have experienced cancer, and a dedicated course for significant others, to support your loved ones with their own emotional needs.

Jemma Wellbeing Space.jpg

My experience: Jemma

Jemma was treated for breast cancer at The Christie Private Care and is part of The Wellbeing Space community. We spoke to Jemma about her experience of The Wellbeing Space and the support it provided.

One of the main things that I felt worked was the way that at each session (at The Wellbeing Space) you were involved and could input to the group your own mental and physical feelings. Being part of a group and hearing from other people in similar situations, helped dispel a lot of my insular feelings.
