CaRi-heart technology
Revolutionary new technology to assess the risk of a serious heart condition or heart attack – many years before anything happens.
At The Christie Private Care, our expert consultant surgeons perform a wide range of cancer surgeries in state-of-the-art facilities, using the most advanced techniques, so you can be assured of the best possible treatment and care.
Surgery is one of the most common treatments for many types of cancer. If you have been diagnosed with cancer your medical team may recommend surgery as part of your personalised treatment plan. Cancer surgery is primarily used to remove a tumour or reduce its size.
Surgery can also be used to help diagnose and stage cancer, to reconstruct a part of the body, to relieve the symptoms of more advanced cancer, or to reduce an individual’s risk of developing cancer.
From open, laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgery, to advanced procedures such as HIPEC with cytoreductive surgery, at The Christie Private Care you’ll be cared for by experienced surgeons who perform routine and complex operations across almost all types of cancer, including rare and complex cancers.
Our surgeons also work closely with colleagues across radiotherapy, systemic anti-cancer therapies, interventional radiology, stem cell transplantation, and other specialties, as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring every part of your care is considered as part of your recommended treatment and care plan.
We have the surgical expertise and advanced technology to provide a wide range complex surgical procedures, including:
Robotic-assisted surgery using the da Vinci® surgical system enables precise operations through small incisions. Robotic surgery has been part of care at The Christie Private Care since 2010, making us the first provider in the independent sector to offer it in the North West of England.
Where possible, laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery can be used to remove tumours through small incisions, leading to quicker recovery times.
We regularly perform surgery for advanced or recurrent cancers, including procedures involving multiple organs. These are carefully planned by a team of experts focussing on your safety.
For peritoneal cancers, we offer surgery combined with heated chemotherapy (HIPEC), delivered directly into the abdominal cavity during the operation.
Our team can help with any enquiries, or you can make an appointment with one of our experienced consultants.
