Robotic-assisted surgery using the da Vinci® surgical system enables precise operations through small incisions. Robotic surgery has been part of care at The Christie Private Care since 2010, making us the first provider in the independent sector to offer it in the North West of England.
Where possible, laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery can be used to remove tumours through small incisions, leading to quicker recovery times.
We regularly perform surgery for advanced or recurrent cancers, including procedures involving multiple organs. These are carefully planned by a team of experts focussing on your safety.
For peritoneal cancers, we offer surgery combined with heated chemotherapy (HIPEC), delivered directly into the abdominal cavity during the operation.

Nikki's story
Nikki had been feeling much more tired than usual, was experiencing some mild back pain, and had noticed she was bloated, but it was when her period lasted for over two weeks that she became concerned and went to see her GP. Shortly after, in June 2023, she was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer, aged 44.
