Mr Srijit Banerjee is a consultant urologist practising in general urology with specialist interests in renal stone disease and lower urinary tract dysfunction.
Since 2021 he worked as a consultant at Darent Valley Hospital. Having completed his basic medical degree in India in 2004, he then trained in North London Deanery as a specialist registrar and has worked in specialist centres such as The Royal Marsden and St Bart's Hospital.
Mr Banerjee has extensive experience in performing procedures such as rigid/flexible ureteroscopies, laser stone fragmentation with good stone clearance as well as performing surgeries for urinary symptoms such as TURP and intravesical Botox.
He has a keen interest in cancer diagnostics such as patients presenting with raised PSA and treatment of patients with haematuria and superficial bladder cancer. He also undertakes various open and penoscrotal surgeries such as hydrocoele, phimosis and vasectomy.
Currently, Mr Banerjee is the BPH lead at his local hospital and has set up a local urodynamics MDT.
Having done his research at University of East Anglia on enhanced recovery of bladder cancer patients he gained his MD degree. This particular piece of research has been widely regarded and has been published both in British and International journals. He is an active member of BAUS ( British Association of Urological Surgeons) and is regularly involved in the training/supervision of Junior doctors
