Professor Lees is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon with special interests in hand and wrist surgery as well as cosmetic surgery. She has served as a council member for the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) and has been involved in research into the characterization of stem cells in fat grafts. She runs the North West aesthetic training rotation and acts as a trainer in aesthetic surgery for the North West plastic surgery programme. Professor Lees holds RCSEng Certification in Cosmetic Surgery and is the college lead for the programme nationally. She is also known for her expertise in hand, wrist, and upper limb surgery, having undertaken a fellowship at the Kleinert Institute in Louisville, USA. She has served as Chair of Education & Training for the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH) and has developed postgraduate training programmes for hand surgeons. Her expertise includes nasal and sinus surgery (including rhinoplasty), snoring, paediatric ENT problems, and the multidisciplinary management of developmental breast disorders. Professor Lees is engaged in making clinical surgery as safe as possible and is involved in the SAFE OR project globally.
