Mr. Ellapparadja's passion for knee surgery led him to be selected for the prestigious BOA (British Orthopaedic Association) transitional fellowship in Knee Osteotomy and soft tissue knee surgery, where he learned the principles of knee joint preservation through alignment restoration. Following this, he completed a sports knee fellowship under Mr. Geutjens in Derby, where he gained expertise in ligament reconstruction around the knee.
In his practice, Mr. Ellapparadja places a strong emphasis on Evidence-Based Medicine and enhanced recovery protocols for his hip and knee replacement patients, which significantly reduces their length of inpatient hospital stay. He actively contributes to the National Joint Registry (NJR) data and the UK Knee Osteotomy Registry (UKKOR).
Mr. Ellapparadja is dedicated to research and has presented at several international meetings. He currently serves as the Principal Investigator for the WHITE trial, a multicentric Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) for Neck of Femur Fractures (NOFs), with Tameside Hospital chosen as one of the participating centres.
