He has particular expertise in minimally invasive surgical techniques for prostate enlargement, including newer approaches designed to preserve sexual function. He is also one of a small number of surgeons in the UK able to perform minimally invasive tibial nerve and sacral nerve stimulation for bladder dysfunction. In addition, he has specialist oncological interests, particularly in the management of non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer, and offers blue-light cystoscopy to improve diagnosis and treatment, as well as outpatient laser therapies for bladder tumours.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Malde maintains a strong academic profile with over 100 peer-reviewed publications and several book chapters. He is a regular invited speaker at international conferences and remains actively involved in medical education as both a tutor and examiner on accredited national surgical courses.
