Mr Rakesh Kucheria is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in lower limb anthroplasty including hip replacements, unicondylar knee replacements, revision hip and total knee replacements. For the last 18 years, he has been working at Heatherwood and Wexham Park hospitals now part of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. Recognised by the trust with clinical excellence awards, Mr Kucheria is the lead clinician for his department.
Mr Kucheria came to the UK in 1990 and trained at Royal London Hospital and Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. He has extensive experience of endoprosthetic reconstruction for failed anthroplasty and pathological fractures and also in total hip replacement, total knee replacement, unicindylar knee replacement, hip resurfacing and revision procedures.
Lately, Mr Kucheria has been working with computer-assisted surgery and navigated knee replacements. Additionally, he has a keen interest in treating trauma and works at Wexham Park Hospital, treating a variety of traumatic injuries such as upper limb fractures, ankle and lower limb fractures. He also leads the Enhanced Recovery Progamme, which is a revolutionary pathway for joint replacements designed to minimise post-operative pain and maximize early mobility of the joint.
Mr Kucheria has 2 children and has a keen interest in sports, still playing cricket, golf and tennis and also running an under-11 cricket team in the Middlesex county.
