Mr. Azhar Khan is a distinguished and highly experienced consultant urologist with a clinical practice encompassing all aspects of urology. His specialist practice focuses primarily on the comprehensive management of kidney cancer, robotic surgery, kidney stones, and laser procedures for the prostate. He is one of the highest volume robotic kidney cancer surgeons in the UK, performing over 100 robotic cases annually. He is also an expert in laser prostatectomy for BPH, and complex surgery for kidney stones such as rigid and flexible ureteroscopy and percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL). Additionally, he has a specialist interest in laparoscopic and robotic procedures for varicocele, removal of varicocele coils, prostate cancer, blood in the urine (haematuria), bladder cancer, circumcision, vasectomy, hydrocele, and epididymal cyst surgery.

A leading surgeon in the field, Mr. Khan has been a consultant urologist and robotic surgeon at King’s College Hospital and Guy’s Hospital London for over 10 years. He is currently the lead clinician at King’s College Hospital. He is dedicated to improving the care of patients with stents (kidney stones) and urinary catheters (prostate) by establishing specialist clinics, which has resulted in shorter waiting times for surgery. He is also committed to walk-in clinics for all urology cancers, especially kidney cancer, to expedite treatment and reduce the anxiety associated with a cancer diagnosis.

Mr. Khan became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Urology) in 2013. He remains a prominent figure in academic research and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications on kidney cancer, kidney stone disease, and prostate diseases. He obtained an MD from the University of Bristol, following clinical research at the renowned Bristol Urological Institute. He regularly participates in both national and international conferences and is an active member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons, along with the European Association of Urology.

Mr. Khan is passionate about teaching and training future generations of surgeons. He trains postgraduate trainees in complex robotic surgery, kidney stones treatment, and prostate surgery. He is an assigned educational supervisor at both King’s and Guy’s Hospital London.

In his general practice, Mr. Khan provides assessment and care for a wide range of urological conditions affecting the kidney, bladder, prostate, and male genitalia.
