Mr Azhar Khan is a Consultant Urologist with a broad clinical practice encompassing all aspects of urology, alongside specialist expertise in kidney cancer, robotic surgery, kidney stone disease, and laser treatments for prostate conditions. He is recognised as one of the highest-volume robotic kidney cancer surgeons in the UK, performing over 100 robotic procedures annually.
Mr Khan became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Urology) in 2013 and holds an MD from the University of Bristol following research at the Bristol Urological Institute. He has worked as a Consultant Urologist and Robotic Surgeon at King’s College Hospital and Guy’s Hospital, London for more than ten years, and currently holds the role of Lead Clinician at King’s College Hospital.
His surgical practice includes robotic and laparoscopic kidney surgery, laser prostatectomy for benign prostatic hyperplasia, and complex stone procedures such as flexible ureteroscopy and percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL). He also treats prostate and bladder cancer, haematuria, and a wide range of general urological conditions.
Passionate about education, he trains and supervises postgraduate surgeons in advanced robotic and endourological techniques. As well as being widely published and regularly presenting internationally Mr Khan is an active member of BAUS and the European Association of Urology.
