About

Miss Annette Reid is a highly qualified Consultant Gynaecologist with vast experience in treating common gynaecological problems, including pelvic pain, ovarian cysts, abnormal bleeding, fibroids, early pregnancy problems and vulva conditions. She also has significant expertise in performing advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery for simple and complex procedures such as hysterectomies, myomectomies and removal of all types of benign ovarian cysts. Miss Reid also specialises in both outpatient diagnostic hysteroscopies and inpatient procedures for polyps, fibroids and heavy menstrual bleeding. She is a registered Colposcopist with the British Society or Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP), having served as lead for Benign Vulva pathology.

Miss Reid obtained a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Biomedical Sciences from King's College London in 1997. Her MBBS medical degree was undertaken at Guy's, King's & St.Thomas' (GKT) School of Medicine/University of London, where she qualified with a Distinction in 2002. She pursued three years of surgical training, passing the MRCS (1&2) postgraduate exams, before turning her attention to Obstetrics and Gynaecology. In 2015, she received a Postgraduate Diploma with Merit from the University of Surrey for Advanced Gynaecological Endoscopy skills as well as ultrasound qualifications related to early pregnancy and gynaecology following honorary training at King’s College Hospital, London. Additionally, Miss Reid acquired Advanced Skills Modules (ATSMs) in Benign Open and Laparoscopic Surgery and Early Pregnancy and Acute Gynaecology along with Labour Ward Practice.

Miss Reid is highly skilled and experienced in ultrasound scanning, able to investigate and manage early pregnancy problems such as vaginal bleeding and pain. She also specialises in Gynaecology Scanning, differentiating ovarian cysts, for example. In her current Consultant role at Guy's & St Thomas' Hospital, she provides second opinion scans for early pregnancy patients as well as dealing with acute gynaecological cases.

Miss Reid is a great champion of women's health; always taking the time to listen to patients' concerns and work with them towards finding solutions that work best for them individually. Her care and concern for all of her patients shine through whether they are in an outpatient or inpatient setting - often being complimented by thankful individuals who have benefited from her attentiveness first-hand.
