Dr Terence Wong is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with broad expertise across digestive and liver medicine, including reflux disorders, viral and autoimmune hepatitis, hepatology, and advanced hepatobiliary endoscopy.
He completed his medical degree at the University of Cambridge, followed by postgraduate clinical training at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, St Thomas’ Hospital, and King’s College Hospital. In 2001, he was awarded an MD for his doctoral thesis. Alongside his clinical work, Dr Wong has developed a strong academic profile, contributing more than 100 scientific publications and abstracts, with research centred on gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, liver conditions, hepatitis, and interventional hepatobiliary endoscopy.
His practice covers a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopy, gastroscopy, sigmoidoscopy, ERCP, cholangioscopy, oesophageal and colonic stenting, liver biopsy, FibroScan, and PEG insertion. He manages complex gastrointestinal and liver disorders such as Barrett’s oesophagus, achalasia, hiatus hernia, oesophagitis, gastroparesis, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, fatty liver disease, autoimmune hepatitis, primary biliary cholangitis, Wilson’s disease, haemochromatosis, jaundice, gastric ulcers, and other upper gastrointestinal conditions affecting the oesophagus and stomach.
