Dr Angad Dhillon is a highly experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist with a specialist interest in endoscopy, based at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust in London. He obtained his medical degree from Imperial College London, and completed his postgraduate training in hospitals across London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex.
Dr Dhillon underwent a 3-year advanced endoscopy fellowship post at St Mark’s Hospital, where he received specialist training in advanced endoscopic techniques for the safe and effective removal of gastrointestinal polyps. He has also conducted research in the diagnosis and treatment of precancer and early cancer in the bowel, and has published extensively in areas of endoscopy and inflammatory bowel disease.
As a National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme accredited endoscopist, Dr Dhillon performs regular screening colonoscopy lists at the University Hospital Lewisham, which is the bowel cancer screening hub for South East London. He leads the complex polypectomy and capsule endoscopy service at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and his specialist interests include the diagnosis and management of diseases and disorders affecting the oesophagus, stomach, small and large bowel, and liver.
Dr Dhillon prioritises the highest quality and comfortable day-case gastroscopy and colonoscopy procedures for both diagnosis and therapy, and offers a holistic approach to healthcare by ensuring that the wider impact of a patient’s symptoms on their life is addressed. He also ensures that his patients are fully involved in the subsequent therapeutic decision-making process.
