Professor Ahmed Allam is a Consultant ENT Surgeon practising in London and Cheshire, with his NHS base at Queen’s University Hospitals in East London, where he also holds the role of Associate Professor in Ear, Nose and Throat. He has performed over 4,500 ENT surgeries, including more than 1,000 ear procedures such as cholesteatoma removal, tympanoplasty, ossiculoplasty, and hearing implants. Over the past 15 years, he has also carried out sinus and skull base surgery for more than 1,500 patients.
Professor Allam completed his undergraduate and postgraduate training at major teaching hospitals including Imperial College London, Manchester University Hospitals, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, and Cambridge University Hospitals, gaining broad experience across all aspects of ENT surgery.
During his higher surgical training, he completed a Master’s degree in endoscopic endonasal approaches to the skull base and a PhD in cochlear implantation. He was awarded two specialist fellowships: one in Sheffield focusing on otology and ear surgery, with extensive experience in balance disorders and hearing implants, and a second in Cambridge specialising in skull base surgery, otology, hearing implantation, Ménière’s disease, endoscopic sinus surgery, and pituitary surgery.
Professor Allam is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and a member of the European Board of Otolaryngology.
