Dr Richard Jabbour is a highly experienced Consultant Interventional Cardiologist with extensive knowledge in coronary and structural interventions, including transcatheter aortic valve implantation. He received his medical degree from Imperial College London and completed his training in renowned hospitals in London, including Imperial College Healthcare Trust, St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Royal Brompton, and Harefield Hospital.
Dr Jabbour was also awarded an international fellowship at the world-renowned San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, Italy, where he gained advanced training in interventional cardiology techniques. He holds a PhD from the National Heart and Lung Institute at Imperial College London, which focused on creating engineered heart tissue from induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes, leading to numerous awards and accolades.
Dr Jabbour’s NHS base is at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, which is recognised as one of the UK's largest tertiary centres for cardiovascular disease treatment. Additionally, he is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London.
Dr Jabbour's research background is strong, with over 120 peer-reviewed publications and more than 15 regional, national, and international awards. His research work has significantly influenced major international cardiology guidelines and he is regularly invited to participate as faculty in national and international conferences. Dr Jabbour's clinical expertise and research experience make him a sought-after interventional cardiologist.
