In 1991, Professor Hindley graduated with a medical degree from the University of Dundee. He also completed a masters in Urology at University College London in 1999. He spent his initial surgical training years in Brighton, before undertaking specialist urology training in the South Thames region, which included 2 years spent at King's College Hospital before taking his final exams and venturing to Brisbane, Australia in 2003 to begin a fellowship in laparoscopic urology. In 2004, he was appointed as a consultant at Basingstoke Hospital.
