Mr Peter Rhys Evans is a renowned Consultant Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgeon with a clinical interest in voice and vocal cord disorders, swallowing disorders, salivary gland and thyroid issues. He works at The Harley Street Clinic, The Lister Hospital and The Princess Grace Hospital, all part of HCA Healthcare. He previously held a Consultant post at the Royal Marsden Hospital, where he was Chief of ENT/Head and Neck Surgery.

He began his career with his Medical Degree from St Bartholemew's Hospital in 1971 and completed an extensive training scheme in his chosen field. He spent a year at the University of Paris doing a post-graduate degree while working as a junior Head and Neck surgeon at the Gustave Roussy Institute in Paris. He was awarded his first Consultant post in 1981. Mr Rhys Evans has been heavily published throughout his career, with over 250 publications including five books, and has also received the 'Best International Publication in Otolaryngology' for one of his textbooks. He regularly presents at national and international level and is a significant contributor to the field of ENT.

He is also the Founder and Executive Chairman of Oracle Cancer Trust, the largest charity in the UK raising funds for head and neck cancer research, which has raised over £6 million since he started it in 2001 and currently has 15 PhD research projects.

One of his long-term research interests has been in paleoanthropology and early human evolution. He has recently published a book: 'The Waterside Ape: An Alternative Account of Human Evolution' and since 1992 he has been involved with 3 programmes on this controversial subject with Sir David Attenborough who joined Mr Rhys Evans at his recent book launch and has been a great supporter of his work.
