Mr Shahid is a consultant gynaecologist, accredited by Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and has sub-specialist interest in urogynaecology (female prolapse and urinary incontinence), laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and colposcopy. In addition, he is a general gynaecologist and looks after patients with menstrual disorders, fibroids, endometriosis and menopausal problems.

Mr Shahid received his fellowship of Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and membership of Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology London. He trained in Northwest Deanery and achieved advanced training in laparoscopic surgery, urogynaecology and colposcopy. Mr Shahid has also been working as a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist in Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust.

Due to his wealth of experience and wide range of skills, Mr Shahid has been given practising privileges and rights to admit patients for major surgery in The Wilmslow Hospital HCA in Wilmslow.

Mr Shahid provides the highest standard and individualized care to his patients and strongly believes in shared decision making with his patients in choosing between different options for treatment of prolapse and urinary incontinence.

Mr Shahid offers conservative and surgical management without using mesh of female genital prolapse and urinary incontinence. He performs Urodynamics and bladder assessment clinics.

Mr Shahid has vast experience in laparoscopic (minimal access/keyhole) surgery for uterine and vaginal prolapse. He has performed a large number of surgical procedures for vaginal prolapse including laparoscopic operations to treat prolapse of the womb or the vagina. He offers womb conserving surgery (laparoscopic sacrohysteropexy) for prolapse of the womb and also offers laparoscopic sacrocolopexy and vaginal scarospinous fixation for treatment of prolapse of top of vagina and womb. Mr Shahid performs 90% of the hysterectomies laparoscopically (keyhole surgery) and virginally.

Mr Shahid has performed a significant number of surgical procedures for female urinary incontinence. He offers, urethral bulking injections (Bulkamid) laparoscopic and open Colposuspension, and sub-urethral autologous fascial sling procedure.

He provides a wide range of office gynaecology procedures including outpatient hysteroscopy, outpatient treatment of endometrial polyps (polyps of the lining of the womb) and outpatient endometrial ablation with Minitouch.

Mr Shahid is an accredited colposcopist and offers Colposcopy and Loop Excision Treatment of precancerous conditions of the neck of the womb.
