Mr Lawrence Mascarenhas is a senior consultant in obstetrics (pregnancy and childbirth) and gynaecology (conditions affecting the female reproductive system), whose career has spanned over 30 years. His extensive medical experience now sees him as the current regional college advisor, a multifaceted role where he is responsible for both patient safety and hospital accreditation for many South London hospitals.

His initial medical qualification came when he graduated with first class honours from the University of Tours, France. He later trained in the Oxford John Radcliffe, Birmingham Maternity and Cambridge Addenbrooke’s hospitals where he would obtain postgraduate degrees.

Mr Mascarenhas’ subspecialty is in reproductive medicine, where he focusses much of his energy on supporting pregnancies after recurrent miscarriage and fertility treatment. Owing to his distinguished career, Mr Mascarenhas remains a sensitive and flexible obstetrician who believes in providing continued informed choice to his patients.
