Meirion Thomas was a Consultant Surgeon at the Royal Marsden Hospital from 1986 until March 2015 when he retired. During that time he was the Senior Surgeon on the Sarcoma and Melanoma Units. Between 2008 and 2013 Mr Thomas was Lead Surgeon at the Royal Marsden Hospital. From 2007 until 2012 he held the Honorary Title of Professor of Surgical Oncology at Imperial College. He is now in full-time private practice at the Lister Hospital.

He has a special interest in thyroid and salivary gland surgery and has carried out over 500 operations on parotid tumours. He is part of a team providing rapid access for patients with skin lesions at The Lister Hospital and Chelsea Outpatient Centre.
