Mr David Bowdler qualified from Westminster Medical School in 1976. Initially, he had training in general surgery before training in otorhinolaryngology, an area of medicine that deals with conditions of the ENT region. Later he was appointed to the University Hospital Lewisham in 1989.
His vast experience has seen him both train and works at specialist centres throughout Europe, namely in France, Belgium, Germany and Holland, where he accordingly gained valuable experience in the treatment of ear disease.
Mr Bowdler has a special interest in dizziness, an area of medical attention in which he is highly qualified. Owing to his extensive medical experience, he has associated specialist links with neurologists, should the cause of an illness or ailment be anything other than ENT-related.
He also has specialist investigatory and rehabilitative services for the management of peripheral dizziness/vertigo. In addition to this, he has a special interest in hearing loss, middle ear disease and tinnitus, including the diagnosis, investigation and treatment.
Mr Bowdler is most often in theatre dealing with perforations of the eardrum, chronic infections of the middle ear and surgery otosclerosis. Beyond this, however, he deals with all conditions of the ear, including hearing loss, tinnitus and dizziness.
On account of his experience, every year Mr Bowdler lectures and teaches at numerous national and international ear courses and conferences. He has published over 100 papers and has given over 200 lectures on ENT, especially about diseases of the ear.
