Professor Aali Sheen is a Consultant General Surgeon specializing in abdominal wall hernias. He completed his medical training in Dundee and undertook specialist training in General Surgery in London, Leeds, and Manchester. Additionally, he trained in specialist ‘keyhole' hernia surgery in Sweden. Professor Sheen is recognized nationally for managing patients and athletes with groin pain and redefined the meaning of a ‘sportsman's groin,’ publishing the first consensus statement for groin pain in athletes in 2014. He has extensive experience treating both elite and amateur athletes for groin injuries, including many Premiership football players. Professor Sheen has recently undertaken robotic surgery and was the first in the world to perform a robotic inguinal hernia repair with the Versius system. He is a core member of Manchester's Hip and Groin at MIHP and treats conditions such as gallbladder issues, keyhole hernia repairs, liver surgery, chronic abdominal pain, and various types of hernias.
