Miss Yi Shan Low is a highly qualified Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of her specialty and vast experience in caring for women from all walks of life. Miss Low's NHS base is Luton and Dunstable University Hospital NHS Trust, where she holds a substantive NHS post. After obtaining her medical degree in 2001 from Queen's University, Belfast, Miss Low went on to complete speciality training in obstetrics and gynaecology at various tertiary hospitals in Northern Ireland, Liverpool and other parts of Northern England.

At Luton and Dunstable University Hospital, Miss Low is the Obstetrics Guidelines Lead and heads up a robust training programme in obstetrics emergency for the maternity staff. In addition to her weekly high-risk antenatal clinic, she is also well-practised in managing problems in early pregnancy with the help of her regular ultrasound clinic. She is a hands-on obstetrician who is very skilled in managing high-risk deliveries both vaginally and via complex caesarean section as part of her NHS service. As required, Miss Low happily offers private ad hoc consultations a both the Portland Hospital and the Cobham Clinic. Her services here include planned caesarean section and postnatal care, pregnancy packages with bespoke antenatal care, as well as surgical management of miscarriage. 

Miss Low is a member of the Royal College Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and also devotes her time to medical education, being an examiner for the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree at University College London. In addition, she teaches and trains both foundation and trainee doctors in all aspects of obstetrics and gynaecology.

Aside for her impressive skills when it comes to medicine, Miss Low is multilingual. She comfortably converses in both English and Malay, as well as simple Chinese dialects such as Cantonese, Mandarin, Hakka and Hokkien.
