Dr Stephen Motto is a founding member of the Sports Injury Diagnosis clinic within London Bridge Hospital. He has extensive knowledge in all aspects of sports medicine and is able to diagnose and treat sports injuries promptly and effectively. His special interests are in the diagnosis and treatment of exercise-induced lower limb problems, as well as in the use of shockwave therapy for tendinopathies.

Dr Motto is at the forefront of sports medicine and has treated many professional athletes over the years including the British International Rowing and Bobsleigh teams. He has also spent nearly ten years as a medical officer at the British Olympic Medical Centre and has also worked within the musculoskeletal department at the Royal London Homeopathic Hospital.

As an avid athlete, Dr Motto’s interest in sports medicine was originally inspired by his own experiences with sports injuries. After completing his GP training, he specialised in sports medicine and started working at Sports and Fitness Assessment Ltd (SAFA Ltd), where he gained experience in managing sports and musculoskeletal disorders. In 1993, he earned his diploma in musculoskeletal medicine and became a sports medicine consultant at the prestigious London Bridge Hospital.

Dr Motto is an established leader in the field of Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) and was invited to give a presentation of his findings using ESWT at the European College of Sports and Exercise Physicians' 2nd Congress.

Dr Motto has also served on a number of committees including the Royal Society of Medicine (Section of Sports and Exercise Medicine), the British Association of Sports and Exercise Medicine (London & South East division), and the British Institute of Musculoskeletal Medicine.
