Dr Dupont is a consultant nephrologist with a subspecialty interest in renal transplantation. His interests include the assessment of medically complex transplant recipients and of prospective kidney donors. Dr. Dupont also provides in-patient and out-patient general nephrology services at Barnet Hospital and is responsible for the Barnet renal dialysis unit.
Dr Dupont graduated from RCSI Medical School, Dublin in 1993. He trained in nephrology on the North Thames specialty training scheme and completed a PhD in transplantation immunology at Imperial College London in 2005. He was appointed Consultant Nephrologist/Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Royal Free Hospital in 2006 . In 2008 he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland. Dr. Dupont is dual accredited in Renal and General Internal Medicine. His practice encompasses all aspects of general nephrology including investigation and management of acute and chronic kidney and difficult hypertension.
Additionally, Dr Dupont had published numerous papers and is actively implicated in research regarding renal transplantation including: pre-transplant assessment, transplantation immunology, infectious and other complications of transplantation and management of chronic transplant rejection. He is also the principal investigator for a number of clinical trials in renal transplantation.
