Professor Gordon Jayson is a consultant medical oncologist specializing in gynaecological oncology, with particular interest in ovarian and endometrial cancer. After studying medicine at the University of Oxford, he undertook his medical and oncology training and PhD in Manchester. In 1997, he became a senior lecturer at The Christie and The University of Manchester. Professor Jayson has served on various committees, including Cancer Research UK's New Agents Committee and the Medical Research Council's Drug and Device Development Committee. He is currently Chair of Translational Research for the Medical Research Council ICON7 and the Manchester Cancer Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy Board.Professor Jayson's research focuses on developing and optimizing anti-angiogenic drugs for treating ovarian cancer. He has widely published in peer-reviewed journals and has been invited to speak at international conferences. His clinical expertise includes chemotherapy, endometrial cancer, gynaecological cancers, and ovarian cancer.
