Yin Wu

Dr Yin Wu is an Honorary Consultant Medical Oncologist and clinician scientist with specialist expertise in immunotherapy and the treatment of melanoma. He also sees patients privately alongside his academic and NHS roles.

Dr Wu read preclinical medicine at the University of Cambridge, where he continues to teach undergraduate medical and veterinary students as a Bye-Fellow in Pathology. He completed his clinical training at University College London through the highly competitive MBPhD programme. His doctoral research focused on the role of unconventional T cells in human health and disease, a field he has continued to develop throughout his post-doctoral and academic career.

Following completion of his medical studies, Dr Wu undertook training in General Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals and University College London, where he was appointed as an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer. He was appointed as an Honorary Consultant Medical Oncologist in 2021.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Wu plays a leading role in cancer research and clinical trials. He currently chairs the Skin Cancer Clinical Trials Committee and is actively involved in both translational and laboratory-based research. His work focuses on understanding how tissue-resident T cells fight cancer, with the aim of improving and refining immunotherapy treatments for patients.
