Mr Lee is currently a consultant orthopaedic surgeon who provides an extensive hip and knee practice that ranges from sports injuries and joint preservation surgery to joint replacement surgery. He has a particular interest in arthroscopic and minimally invasive, tissue sparing surgery.
Mr Lee qualified in Medicine from the University of Bristol in 1999, he then moved to London for his surgical training and completed his Orthopaedic Training on the North West Thames rotation in West London. He then underwent sub-specialist training for a year in Hip and Knee surgery on the prestigious Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at The Ottawa Hospital in Canada. Working with world-renowned surgeon, Dr Paul Beaulé, he developed an interest in hip joint preservation surgery and tissue sparing anterior approach hip joint replacement. Additionally, he gained fellowship training in Major Trauma at St Mary’s Hospital in London.
He was appointed as consultant orthopaedic surgeon to Barts and The Royal London Hospital, the oldest teaching hospital in the country. His interest covers all aspects of hip and knee surgery, as well as training the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons and has recently helped secure a bid to set up a simulation centre for orthopaedics at The Royal London. He is also actively involved in research and has presented at both national and international conferences.
Mr Lee believes that an accurate diagnosis is the essential seeing that most conditions do not require surgery. If surgery is necessary you can be assured that Mr Lee is a highly trained in hip and knee surgery and many conditions can be treated with keyhole surgery as a daycase which means minimal disruption and more rapid recovery.
