Mr. Anand Arya is a highly experienced Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon with a career spanning over 35 years. His primary focus lies in addressing upper limb problems, and he has specialised expertise in treating elbow conditions, often using minimally invasive keyhole surgical techniques. As a dedicated consultant, Mr. Arya has been an integral part of the NHS practice at King's College Hospital in London for more than 25 years. He holds a prominent position as the leading elbow surgeon at King's and is responsible for running the Elbow clinic at King's College Hospital.
Mr. Arya's comprehensive orthopaedic training took place in various renowned institutions, including Jaipur (India), Liverpool (UK), and Dundee (Scotland). He further honed his skills through elbow fellowships at Tulane University Medical School in New Orleans, under the guidance of Buddy Savoie, and at Mayo Clinic in the USA, where he trained with Bernard Morrey. His professional affiliations include being a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, England, as well as a member of the British Medical Association, British Orthopaedic Association, and British Elbow & Shoulder Society.
In recognition of his expertise, Mr. Arya holds an honorary visiting professorship at MG University of Medical Science & Technology in Jaipur, India. He is actively involved in teaching and mentoring medical students, often delivering lectures and serving as a clinical advisor and personal tutor to numerous students from Guy's King's and St Thomas School of Medicine in London.
Mr. Arya plays a significant role in the Trauma & Orthopaedic department as an accredited appraiser and the audit lead. He serves as the Principal Investigator for a national trial aimed at exploring innovative methods for treating elbow fractures. Additionally, he has contributed to the governance of King's College Hospital as an ex-member of the Governing Council and has served as the Deputy Chair of the Local Negotiating Committee within the hospital. Moreover, he has held the prestigious position of President of the 'British Indian Orthopaedic Society' in the UK.
