Mr Morad Sallam is a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon, Clinical Lead and Head of Service for Vascular Surgery at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at King’s College London. He has over 20 years of experience in vascular surgery and has held a consultant post at Guy’s and St Thomas’ since 2013.
His clinical practice includes complex open and endovascular aortic surgery. He co-leads a large multidisciplinary programme dedicated to the management of aortic infections and leads the cardiovascular multidisciplinary aortic clinic in collaboration with cardiothoracic surgeons, providing specialist assessment and treatment for congenital and complex aortic conditions. His areas of practice include the management of aortic infections, repair of abdominal, thoracic and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms, paediatric vascular surgery and treatment of varicose veins.
At King’s College London Medical School, Mr Sallam is Lead for Cardiovascular Undergraduate Education at Guy’s and St Thomas’. He is a faculty member for the Royal College of Surgeons Advanced Vascular Skills Course and is involved with the European Society of Vascular Surgery. In addition to his clinical and educational roles, he contributes to healthcare service development and redesign and acts as Trust Clinical Lead for selected overseas consultancy and partnership initiatives.
