Mr Ahmed studied at the University of Cambridge and Imperial College School of Medicine, graduating with distinction in 2001 and receiving the Gold Medal in Pathology.

He holds an MA in Experimental Psychology from Cambridge and a PhD in Molecular Oncology from Barts Cancer Institute, where his research contributed to the development of genetically optimised viruses for cancer immunotherapy.

Following specialist ENT training across leading London hospitals, he was appointed as a consultant at Barts Health and University College London Hospitals in 2017.

He serves as Clinical Lead for ENT at the Royal London Hospital and contributes to the multidisciplinary management of head and neck cancer and thyroid disease.
