Dr Shamali Hoque is a Consultant Dermatologist at HCA UK, The Shard and London Bridge Hospital, as well as for the NHS. She specialises in skin cancer, Botox for hyperhidrosis and general dermatology including acne, psoriasis, eczema and Paediatric Dermatology Her main interests are Skin Cancer, Psoriasis, Acne, Eczema, General Dermatology and Paediatric Dermatology.
In 2007, Dr Hoque was appointed as a Consultant at University Hospital Lewisham, and is currently the Clinical Lead for Dermatology at Lewisham Trust. Prior to that she was Skin cancer Lead for 10 years there. She is the South London Representative for the British Association of Dermatologists and is also a Council Member for the Royal Society of Medicine. She is also the Research Lead for Dermatology at Lewisham Trust and Educational Supervisor and Clinical Supervisor to Dermatology Specialist Registrars at Lewisham Trust. She is also the Biologics Lead at Lewisham Trust Dermatology.
Prior to studying medicine, Dr Hoque completed a BSc in Pharmacology at University College London with First Class Honours. In 1996, she completed her MBBs at Barts and The Royal London Hospital Medical College with a distinction in Medical Ethics. She continued her medical training at Barts and The Royal London Hospital whilst completing her MRCP (UK). She started her Dermatology training at St John’s Institute of Dermatology, before completing her Specialist Dermatology training at St George’s Hospital.
Dr Hoque is actively involved teaching, training and has presented regularly at GP meetings. She has also performed audits and published articles in her areas of interest.
