Dr. Samir Agrawal is a Consultant Haemato-Oncologist. He has expertise in the treatment of blood cancers and stem cell transplantation, with a specialist interest in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL). Dr. Agrawal is also recognized for his expertise in infections in immunocompromised patients with cancer and is a world authority on life-threatening invasive fungal infections. He qualified at the University of Bristol and trained at the Royal Marsden Cancer Hospital. He was awarded a PhD with first-class honors in Immunology at the University of Paris. Dr. Agrawal is a former Director of The Stem Cell Laboratory and Head of Diagnostic Immunophenotyping. He has designed, funded, and implemented studies on myelodysplastic syndromes, invasive aspergillosis, and CLL. He was a founding Trustee of the UK MDS group and a former member of the UK MDS and CLL trials committee. He is also a trustee for CLLSA and a member of several national and international committees. His areas of expertise include stem cell transplantation, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, and fungal infections.
