Dr Rajdeep Khattar graduated from the University of Southampton Medical School and completed his specialist cardiology training within the London Deanery. During this time, he gained extensive experience in advanced echocardiography as well as percutaneous coronary intervention. He has worked as a Consultant Cardiologist for more than two decades, with his NHS role based at Royal Brompton Hospital, which is part of Guy’s and St Thomas’s NHS Foundation Trust. He also serves as the Clinical Lead for Echocardiography at both Royal Brompton Hospital and London Bridge Hospital.
He has a strong focus on treating patients who present with chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, or high blood pressure. His clinical and academic interests centre on coronary artery disease, hypertension, heart failure, and valvular heart conditions. He is highly experienced in a wide range of techniques, including stress and contrast echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography, 3D echocardiography, as well as coronary angioplasty and stent procedures.
Dr Khattar holds a Doctorate in Medicine and has authored more than 120 publications covering various areas of cardiology. He is also an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London. He continues to play an active role in clinical research and supervises postgraduate students undertaking PhD and MD programmes.
In recognition of his extensive knowledge and contributions, he has been elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, and the European Society of Cardiology. In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis and golf, as well as listening to music.
