STI TESTS FOR MEN AND WOMEN
A series of simple, routine tests that help you stay in control of your sexual health
Having a sexual health screen can be a positive thing to do if you're sexually active or you've had unprotected sex. Not all STIs have symptoms - for example, chlamydia - so even if you haven't noticed any changes, it could still be worth having a screen.
Our sexual health specialists have lots of experience in dealing with sensitive matters and are always happy to give you advice. We run different tests for men and women.
If you're male, a urine sample and a blood test is all we need to screen for chlamydia, syphilis, hepatitis A and HPV.
If you're female, we take a swab from your vagina. This involves collecting a sample of cells from your cervix with a fine brush. We use this sample to look for thrush, chlamydia, gonorrhoea and HPV.
We can also take a blood test to look for HIV, syphilis and hepatitis A.
