Dr Valentina Puntmann is a highly qualified and experienced cardiologist who specializes in the early detection and treatment of cardiac problems that can lead to heart failure. She has a special interest in non-ischaemic inflammatory cardiomyopathies, hypertrophic and hypertensive heart disease, and provides comprehensive multidisciplinary cardiac treatment to patients suffering from chronic conditions such as systemic lupus erythematosus or chronic infections like HIV.
Dr Puntmann's educational background includes graduating top in her year from the University of Ljubljana in 1999, completing her clinical training in the United Kingdom and Germany, and receiving her PhD in cardiovascular pharmacology in 2004. She has also undergone training in cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging at the German Heart Institute in Berlin.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Puntmann is a passionate educator and has held several teaching positions at top universities, including Honorary Lecturer at Imperial College London, Senior Lecturer at King's College London, and Clinical Associate Professor at the University Hospital Frankfurt. She is also a DZHK Principal Investigator with the German Heart Foundation, which allows her to contribute to research and development in the field of cardiology.
