Dr Tamir Malley is a consultant specialising in rheumatology and acute and general internal medicine, with a clinical practice based in London. He provides private consultations at The Physicians’ Clinic and The Princess Grace Hospital, alongside his NHS role at the Royal Free Hospital.
His clinical work spans a wide range of rheumatological and medical presentations. Dr Malley assesses and manages musculoskeletal conditions, systemic autoimmune and connective tissue diseases, and complex multiorgan inflammatory disorders. He also has experience in the evaluation and management of rare autoimmune and autoinflammatory conditions, as well as patients presenting with medically unexplained symptoms. Procedural work within his practice includes joint and soft tissue aspirations and injections. In his role in acute and general internal medicine, he is involved in the assessment and treatment of both life-threatening and non-life-threatening medical conditions requiring urgent or inpatient care.
Dr Malley’s approach to care is patient-centred and holistic, with careful attention given to individual priorities, cultural perspectives and health beliefs. He supports patients not only with diagnosis and treatment, but also with the broader personal and social impact of long-term illness and medical therapy.
At the Royal Free Hospital, Dr Malley co-leads the Connective Tissue Disease and Vasculitis Clinic and established the Rheumatology Hot Clinic, a rapid-access service designed to facilitate early diagnosis and timely treatment of new and acute rheumatological conditions, particularly those at risk of causing organ damage. He also works as part of the Immunotherapy Multidisciplinary Team, collaborating with oncology colleagues to manage immune checkpoint inhibitor–related rheumatic complications in patients undergoing cancer treatment.
Alongside his clinical responsibilities, Dr Malley is actively involved in medical education and research. He holds the position of Honorary Clinical Associate Professor and works with University College London Medical School as Undergraduate Lead for Acute Medicine at the Royal Free Hospital, as well as Undergraduate Lead for Rheumatology for the Barnet Hospital student cohort. He organises and chairs a regional rheumatology postgraduate meeting, delivers bedside teaching for MRCP(UK) PACES candidates, and provides educational and clinical supervision for trainee doctors. His academic interests continue through his role as a principal investigator in multicentre clinical trials.
