Dr Sudhakar George graduated from Cambridge University and settled in Birmingham after working in Cambridge, Bristol, Manchester and Brighton. He completed a research MD in structural cardiology at the University of Sussex before commencing his subspecialty training in interventional cardiology in the West Midlands Deanery. He completed his training with a prestigious BCIS international fellowship in interventional cardiology at the Green Lane Unit in Auckland, New Zealand. He now works as a Consultant Interventional and Structural Cardiologist at University Hospitals Birmingham.
Dr George enjoys managing all aspects of adult cardiology, including collapse, palpitations, chest pain, dizziness and breathlessness. He has a special interest in cardiac catheterisation and angioplasty including the use of intravascular imaging and pressure wire assessment. He also does more complex structural work including closure of post infarction ventricular septal defects. He has an active research portfolio and is heavily involved in the training of future cardiologists, as well as his Associate Lectureship at the University of Birmingham.
In his free time, Dr George enjoys sport particularly football and running, as well as spending time with his wife and children.
