Professor Kwee Lan Yong is a specialist in haematological oncology and is renowned for her work in treating patients with multiple myeloma. She completed her medical training at Oxford University and University College London (UCL) and earned a PhD in 1993 for her research into growth factors. In 1999, she was appointed as a Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant at UCL, later becoming the Clinical and Academic Lead in Multiple Myeloma at University College and the North London Cancer Network (NLCN). Professor Yong runs an active trials program and a laboratory research program, with over 60 original papers published in peer-reviewed journals. She is a reviewer for international journals and grant-awarding bodies and runs the undergraduate course for Haematology at UCL Medical School. She regularly speaks at international conferences. Her clinical expertise includes chemotherapy, haematological stem cell transplantation, and myeloma.
