Professor Kwee Lan Yong is a Consultant Haematological Oncologist with extensive expertise in the management of multiple myeloma. She undertook her medical education at Oxford University followed by University College London (UCL), and completed a PhD at UCL in 1993, focused on growth factor research.
In 1999, she joined UCL as a Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant, later progressing to become Clinical and Academic Lead for Multiple Myeloma across University College and the North London Cancer Network (NLCN). Alongside her clinical work, Professor Yong leads both clinical trial activity and laboratory-based research programmes.
She has authored more than 60 original peer-reviewed publications and contributes as a reviewer for international scientific journals and research funding organisations. Professor Yong also directs undergraduate haematology teaching at UCL Medical School and is a frequent invited speaker at global medical conferences.
Her clinical practice includes systemic cancer treatments, haematological stem cell transplantation, and specialist care for patients with myeloma.
