Mr Sudhanshu Chitale is a highly regarded Consultant Urological Surgeon with vast urological and surgical experience of over 25 years. He is currently based at the Whittington Health NHS Trust, London and also works at University College London Medical School as an Honorary Senior Lecturer. Mr Chitale has completed extensive training in all subspecialities of Urology in in both India and throughout the UK. His experience in the field is extensive, having performed over 20,000 urological surgical procedures over the years.
Mr Chitale performs a vast range of operative procedures, ranging from cystoscopies to cystectomies. His main areas of expertise include procedures involving the lower urinary tract. These include, bladder, penile, prostatic, and urethral surgery. Examples of Mr Chitale's surgical repertoire include procedures for hydrocele, phimosis, epididymal lesions, urethral surgery, varicoceles, testicular tumours, surgery for male infertility, sperm retrieval procedures, vasectomy, reversal of vasectomy, endoscopic prostatic and bladder tumour resections, surgery for Peyronie's disease and congenital penile deformities, endoscopic treatment for urinary stones, as well as urological procedures for children including orchidopexy for undescended testis, circumcision and hydrocelectomy for patent processus vaginalis.
Mr Chitale has widely published in the field of urology, having published over 80 publications. He also often presents at various national and international meetings. Throughout his medical career, Mr Chitale has received numerous awards recognising him for his outstanding academic achievements.
What's more, Mr Chitale is highly respected for his contribution to teaching through his various roles as an educator and trainer. For many years, he has been actively involved in teaching undergraduates, postgraduates and healthcare professionals in various fields through lectures, seminars and bedside-teaching.
Outside of work, Mr Chitale enjoys playing badminton and even represented his University in India. You can also often find him swimming, at the theatre and or travelling abroad.
