About

Dr. Simon Radley is a Consultant General Surgeon specialising in colorectal surgery. He graduated with Honours from the University of Birmingham in 1985, initially working as a house officer before becoming a lecturer in anatomy at the same university. After completing his Senior House Officer training, Dr. Radley conducted research focused on colorectal cancer, earning an MD for his thesis from Birmingham.

He completed his registrar training in general and colorectal surgery in the West Midlands and further specialised at St Mark’s Hospital, London. To expand his expertise, Dr. Radley was awarded overseas fellowships to study advanced rectal cancer treatments in the USA.

In 2002, he was appointed as an NHS Consultant Colorectal Surgeon and has since been involved in extensive clinical practice and research, particularly in functional bowel disorders. His clinical expertise covers a broad range of conditions and procedures including pelvic floor surgery for anal incontinence, bowel screening, colonoscopy, laparoscopic hernia repair, advanced cancer surgery, and minimally invasive treatments for haemorrhoids.

Dr. Radley is committed to delivering high-quality patient care through evidence-based surgical techniques and has contributed significantly to research and education in colorectal surgery.

It is important that HCA is transparent about our relationship with those doctors who provide us with clinical guidance on delivering the best possible care to patients and operating our hospitals safely and efficiently. We set out here some of the ways in which we work together and the amount we pay this doctor for such services.
