Sanjay Anand is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specializes exclusively in knee surgery. He covers all aspects of knee surgery, including cruciate and collateral ligament injuries, cartilage and meniscal regeneration/replacement, kneecap problems (pain and instability), osteotomy (realignment) of the knee joint, and total and partial knee replacement. Sanjay treats both amateur and professional athletes from a variety of sports clubs, including football, rugby, netball, hockey, and motocross, and receives tertiary referrals from consultant colleagues for complex knee problems.He has developed a particular interest in osteotomies around the knee, treatment of early cartilage damage/osteoarthritis in young patients, and management of fat pad problems/anterior knee pain. Sanjay also receives referrals for pediatric knee problems, particularly cartilage issues such as osteochondritis dissecans. His research interests include stem cells for treating cartilage injuries, tissue regeneration, and prevention of osteoarthritis. He holds an honorary senior lecturer post at the University of Manchester, with research published and presented nationally and internationally.
