Mr. Marco Scarci is a seasoned consultant thoracic surgeon with over a decade of experience. His professional base within the NHS is situated at Imperial College NHS Healthcare Trust, while he also offers his services privately at renowned central London hospitals. Specializing in various facets of thoracic surgery, Mr. Scarci's expertise encompasses lung cancer, chest wall deformities, mesothelioma, rib fractures, thymomas, pneumothorax surgery, and chest infection surgery.
Working in tandem with a multidisciplinary team consisting of fellow surgeons, specialist nurses, and radiologists, Mr. Scarci is committed to delivering personalized care to his patients, ensuring optimal treatment and outcomes. His extensive training spans Italy, Malta, and the UK, encompassing stints at prestigious institutions such as the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre and Guy's and St Thomas' in London. Mr. Scarci is an active participant in the thoracic surgery community, frequently presenting at major conferences and serving as the director of the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons Annual Congress. He has also collaborated closely with organizations such as the National Institute for Clinical Excellence and leads various working groups within the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons, including those focused on chest wall database management and pleural malignancies. In the UK, he contributes to working groups for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), furthering his commitment to advancing thoracic surgical practices and standards.
