Hemant Sheth is a Consultant Laparoscopic Upper Gastrointestinal (UGI) and Hepatobiliary Surgeon with extensive expertise in conditions affecting the oesophagus, stomach, liver, gall bladder, and pancreas. He has a particular interest in anti-reflux surgery (fundoplication), diaphragmatic hernia surgery, and laparoscopic cholecystectomy including bile duct exploration. Dr. Sheth also offers diagnostic UGI endoscopy and specializes in the laparoscopic management of inguinal, epigastric, umbilical, ventral, and incisional hernia surgery.Dr. Sheth studied medicine in Mumbai, India, and qualified as a surgeon in 1994. After obtaining his FRCS in 1996, he began training in the UK. In 1999, he joined the Royal Free Liver Unit to train in hepatobiliary surgery and liver transplantation, and registered for a postgraduate research degree from University College London. He completed his specialist training in UGI and hepatobiliary surgery in 2009 and joined Addenbrookes in Cambridge for further training in laparoscopic hepatobiliary surgery.Dr. Sheth was awarded an MD (research) degree from University College London for his thesis on 'Therapeutic Modulation Of Liver Ischaemia Reperfusion Injury'. He currently works as a consultant UGI, Hepatobiliary, and Laparoscopic Surgeon.
