Mr Emeka Okaro is a consultant obstetrician and the lead clinician for benign gynaecology at St. Bartholomew's and the Royal London NHS Teaching Hospitals in London. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Nigeria in 1991 and became a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
Specializing in early pregnancy complications, pelvic pain, menstrual disorders (fibroids, polyps, polycystic ovaries), abnormal smears, endometriosis, and ovarian cysts, Mr Okaro has a specific expertise in gynaecological ultrasonography, is a qualified diagnostic and therapeutic colposcopist, and is RCOG accredited in minimal access surgery (laparoscopic surgery).
Mr Okaro's passion for research has led him to publish several research papers in international publications and medical books, and he is often invited to speak at national and worldwide conferences on the use of ultrasonography in the therapy of common gynaecological disorders. Through his contributions to the field of medicine, Mr Okaro is advancing the knowledge and treatment of gynaecological disorders.
